Episode 7 is the seventh episode of the first season of All of Us Are Dead.
Synopsis[]
To make it out of the music room and onto the roof, the students put into action their most perilous plan yet. Elsewhere, Jae-ik comes across a setback.
Plot[]
The episode opens with a phone conversation between Staff Sergeant Lee Jae-jun and his mother shortly before he and his squad are sent to an overrun shopping center. They kill a large amount of zombies before discovering a group of survivors. While Jae-jun is clearing the food court, he is attacked and bitten on the neck by a zombie. Rather than euthanizing him for being infected, the other soldiers restrain him using a heavy-duty body bag and return him to the military base in the back of a truck.
A clip from Lee Byeong-chan's research diaries shows that he was experimenting with the effects of heat on zombies. Back in the present day, Nam So-ju climbs out of the river and checks the gunshot wound in his side before heading to find his daughter.
Choi Nam-ra begins to show further Halfbie symptoms, including heightened senses of smell and hearing. She tells Lee Su-hyeok that she wanted to bite him because he smelled delicious, but snapped out of it because she heard him say her name for the first time. Su-hyeok confesses that he has a crush on her, but never thought he had a chance because she got good grades and was too pretty for him. Nam-ra tells him she likes him too, and kisses him.
In the night duty room, Min Eun-ji uses her heightened sense of hearing to track down a bowlful of fish, as well as Jung Yong-nam, who calls her by the wrong name, having apparently forgotten who she is. Eun-ji tells him she's starving, and grabs and eats a goldfish whole in front of him. Yong-nam realizes she was bitten and tries to attack her using a thermos flask, but is unsuccessful. Eun-ji reminds him that, when she confessed to him that she was being bullied, he'd told her it was her own fault and she shouldn't tell anyone about it. Despite Yong-nam's attempts to fight her off, Eun-ji bites and guts him on the office table, then vomits on the floor.
Nam-ra overhears the attack and its aftermath. When it ends, she becomes overwhelmed how much she can now hear. Seo Hyo-ryeong tells Nam-ra to stop, to which Nam-ra asks if she's scared as Hyo-ryeong is breathing louder than anyone else in the room. Yang Dae-su says he can only hear the zombie trapped under the piano and his own stomach, and that they should have left for the roof while the music was playing. This gives Nam On-jo the idea to use the music rooms' camera and instruments to distract the zombies and try to escape again.
Outside, Yoon Gwi-nam finds Son Myeong-hwan hiding under a crashed truck. Myeong-hwan tries to use Gwi-nam as bait for the zombies, but Gwi-nam drags him out from under the car and pins him against the truck, breaking his wrist and causing him to scream loudly enough to alert the nearby zombies to their presence. The zombies descend and eat Myeong-hwan as he begs Gwi-nam to save him.
Back in the music classroom, On-jo tells the group they should build a barricade across the classroom and use music to lure the zombies to one side of it. The classroom has two doors; once the zombies have all entered on one side, they can then use the other door to escape into the corridor and up to the roof.
In the outside world, So-ju breaks into the police station armory and takes a gun, killing several zombies before escaping out of a window and continuing on his route to Hyosan High School.
Down in the archery center, the archery group makes a stretcher for Yoo Jun-seong. Their plan is to sneak out round the back of the school and use a path through the construction site to get to the mountains. However, Park Mi-jin drops the stretcher and it breaks before they can get further than the gym entrance. The group is forced to retreat back inside.
Back in the city, Song Jae-ik, Jeon Ho-chul, Se-bin and the baby successfully escape the chicken shop and evade a horde of zombies using a motorbike. Jae-ik spots a survivor on a rooftop, a live streamer nicknamed Orangibberish, and tries to rescue him. Ho-chul protests that the bike won't be able to run with five people on board, and when Jae-ik goes to save Orangibberish, Ho-chul panics and drives away with the two children.
At the military camp, Jin Seon-mu and several other officers watch as the zombified Lee Jae-jun tries to escape from his restraints. Seon-mu tells his staff to seek Jae-jun's parents' permission to use their son as a test subject, then goes to inform Park Eun-hee that she should not expect special treatment and should stop bothering his soldiers. Eun-hee accepts this, but asks that the military send a chopper to Hyosan High School to save any surviving students. Although Seon-mu says nothing to her in response, he later tells Choi Sung-won to send a helicopter to scan all high schools in Hyosan and evacuate any survivors. Sung-won asks Seon-mu if he wants to send a helicopter to the zone where Seon-mu's mother lives, but Seon-mu says he cannot do that until it is named as a rescue zone.
The Hyosan School Group's plan to escape the music room is a success, but as the students reach the roof, they find that the fire escape has been locked from the outside by Kim Cheol-soo. Cheol-soo hears the other students banging on the door from inside, but keeps the door locked. When the rescue helicopter arrives, he tells them that he is the only survivor.
Su-hyeok and Lee Cheong-san work together to hold the zombies back from the top of the staircase while the others try to get through the door, but are surprised when Gwi-nam appears on the stairs, holding one of the zombies up by the collar and laughing.

- When Seon-mu and his soldiers leave the examining room, a soldier can be seen saluting Seon-mu, However in the next, the soldier disappears. (42:35)
- After the students leave one of the zombies running out the room seem to have a green nametag, But its not visibly seen. (Possibly 47:45)
- When the chopper aproaches Hyosan High School, despite the group having seen the hanging body and the firehose was used to climb down, none of those things can be seen outside. (50:11)

- The song being sung in the choir video is Allegri's Miserere mei, Deus, which translates to 'Have mercy on me, O God' and may have been chosen for the lyrical symbolism.
- One of the zombie actors in Myeong-hwan's death scene is not wearing makeup.
- Many users online have drawn comparisons of the students recording messages to their loved ones to the victims of the 2014 Sewol ferry disaster, whom most of them filmed themselfs as the ship sank.
- reportedly 2 victims bodies where found with their life jackets tied together, with both students having reportedly been dating at the time of the tragedy.
- In the webtoon, Nam-ra actually overheard the confrontation between Ha-ri, Min-jae and Mi-jin against Gwi-nam in the principal's office, where Gwi-nam fires a gun at Min-jae after the group refused to give Ha-ri to him.
