Hyosan is a fictional city in Netflix's All of Us Are Dead where the Jonas Virus outbreak takes place and is the main location for the majority of the series.

Pre-Apocalypse[]
Hyosan was a fictional city in South Korea that had over 170,000 residents and where most of the characters lived and worked in and was where the main events of the series took place.
Post-Apocalypse[]
The first outbreak happened at Hyosan High School after a student who was infected with the Jonas Virus by a mouse bite bit the nurse before being sedated. The nurse soon turned into a zombie and proceeded to attack nearby students, spreading the virus throughout the school, but the spread accelerated when the infected student reanimated at the hospital and attacked the staff, from there the outbreak quickly became out of control, spreading throughout the streets causing panic in the uninfected citizens as well as in all of South Korea (despite most exits of the city being successfully closed by the military). The military attempted to evacuate civilians by broadcasting warnings in the city's TV stations as well as attempts to unsuccessfully block the zombies advancement with the usage of armed police officers (due to the police not using lethal force and most likely treating it as riots).
Initial attempts to clear infected and rescue survivors were made, as seen when soldiers could be seen being parachuted into the city during its downfall and in the beginning of Episode 7 where a group of soldiers try to clear a mall of infected and rescue a group of survivors hiding in one of the stores.
the military only began to look for surviving students after Park Eun-hee requested them to do so, with a chopper flying over cheongmook middle school before heading to Hyosan highschool after finding no signs of survivors there.
ultimately the zombies began to overrun military blockades on the city's outskirts forcing the military to use drastic measures and bomb the city, using drones to lure zombies in several key locations using a certain noise frequencies transmitted by the drones, while at the same time, military helicopters flew over the city broadcasting warnings for any potential survivors to hide underground or stay away from several locations that would be used to heard zombies to be bombed.
It was estimated that over 60,000 people (infected and non infected) died during the bombing of the city, even months after the bombing (with much of the city presumably still being intact) and soldiers patrolling to kill any surviving zombies, all the surviving residents where still kept in quarantine with the exceptions of a few surviving halfbies hiding in the city.

- Several filming locations included areas in Daejeon and Seoul.
- In the webtoon, the city is in the province of Gyeonggi-do, the province surrounding Seoul. The Netflix series reiterates this several times.
- Episode 10 gives clues about Hyosan's more precise location, with an expert revealing to the military the following:
- A week since Day 3 (October 22, 2021) of infection (October 29, 2021), the zombies will reach Seongnam, Hanam, Gwacheon, Anyang, and Gwangmyeong.
- It was also estimated that on the day after (October 30, 2021), the zombies will reach Seoul itself.
- While Hyosan and Yangdong next door may be fictional, it's likely that these cities may take place of Uiwang, Gunpo, and Suwon.
- Episode 10 gives clues about Hyosan's more precise location, with an expert revealing to the military the following:
- There are a few minor details that are shown only in the webtoon.
- In the webtoon, there were protests of people wanting to enter the city to save their loved ones and to find a cure to avoid killing the infected.
- In the webtoon, rather than bombing the city, the military released poisonous gas to kill every zombie.
- The military where ordered at one point to kill anyone who attempted to flee the city by foot, even survivors, a group of children from an orphanage were gunned down while they attempted to flee the city due to the bombs, with only one girl being able to escape. The order was only lifted during the bombs' detonation after an undercover journalist witnessed the gunning of a group of survivors; he later leaked evidence of the event to the media causing outrage, later causing the military to change the order to allow any uninfected survivor to escape.
- Hyosan is the only city to be shown on-screen from the entire Season 1, the other was only mentioned by Choi Sung-won, which is named Gangha-dong. It is unknown if the location was an city or town.
