The Unnamed Hospital in Hyosan was a location that was significant in the spread of the Jonas Virus beyond the high school. Lee Jin-su was previously a patient due to attempting suicide and brutally beaten up, and was where Hyeon-ju fully succumbed to the virus.
History[]
Pre-Apocalypse[]
The hospital was a big building located in Hyosan. Prior to the outbreak Lee Jin-su attempted to commit suicide but failed and was rushed to the hospital. When Lee Byeong-chan arrives and sees his son, he realizes the extent of the bullying the boy was enduring. Byeong-chan would infect his son with the Jonas virus in hopes of it helping his son stand up to the bullies, but his son was soon beaten again by the same group and this time he was pushed off of a roof (but survived due to the virus). He was found and taken to the hospital again but when Byeong-chan snuck in, Jin-su reanimated and swore revenge before turning into a zombie much to his distraught fathers horror. Byeong-chan beat him unconscious and smuggled him out of the hospital in hopes of curing him.
Later Kim Hyeon-ju was sent to the hospital after being found, there she was taken for a MRI scan where she reanimated completely and began thrashing, the medical personnel stationed in the observation window attempted to restrain her before watching in horror as she her snapped her own spine and lunged at the female technician. The commotion is heard in the hallway by several doctors and patients before the female technician flees from the room begging the shocked onlookers for help before the zombified Hyeon-ju bites her on the leg; the onlookers flee in horror as the female technician is helped by two staff to flee the scene, being followed by the crawling zombie.
Post-Apocalypse[]
It can be presumed that the entire hospital was overrun and accelerated the spread of the Jonas virus into the city. Prior to its complete overrun, several people called the police and reported zombie attacks. When Park Hee-su was almost killed by an out of control police car while walking home, the infected passengers that attacked the nearby pedestrians are shown to be wearing medical uniforms, making it highly likely they worked in the hospital.
It’s unknown what happened to the hospital after the bombing of Hyosan.
