Lee Su-hyeok (Korean: 이수혁), is the deuteragonist of the first season of the South Korean Netflix drama All of Us Are Dead.
A popular student of Hyosan High School, Su-hyeok is a former bully who has mended his ways and was Nam On-jo's crush, which put him in an unwitting love-triangle with her best friend, Lee Cheong-san. The class president, Choi Nam-ra, is Su-hyeok's love interest.
He is portrayed by Lomon. In the English dub, he is voiced by Darren Keilan and voiced by Josè Luis Piedra in the Spanish dub.
History[]
Pre-Apocalypse[]
Su-hyeok hung out with the bullies before realizing that they weren't good people. Since then, he has hung out with his classmates getting to know them. Before the outbreak, he seems to have had a good reputation with his classmates, and even had a crush on Nam-ra despite On-jo's attempts to flirt with him. Before the outbreak, he noticed the bullies taking Eun-ji and Cheol-soo to the construction site and went after them in an attempt to help the pair but Eun-ji chose to stay in fear of the bullies sending her nude pictures to her mom while Cheol-soo stayed to look after her. Later, he took Kim Hyeon-ju to the nurses office. Not long later, On-jo invited him to hang out with her at lunch period but he lied, saying he would be playing basketball but actually looked for Nam-ra during recess and had a small conversation with her before she continued walking and studying.
Post-Apocalypse[]
During the outbreak, he noticed the commotion going on and ran to save Nam-ra, alerting her to the situation around her. After some time while running through the school grounds, they found a ladder that was used by a groundskeeper and used it to climb into the school, with Nam-ra entering just before a zombie knocked the ladder down.
Later, after abandoning their classroom due to the infected coach, he ran in front of the group to protect them from several zombies, using his fighting skills to slow down the zombies and give the group enough time to use the windows and a door as a mobile barricade. He did not make it to the science lab as he stayed behind to fight the zombies off but was able to hide in the art room. Later, he would use the windows to head towards where the group was and made it to the broadcasting room.
Later, while the group used the broadcast system to lure the zombies out of their way, Su-hyeok stayed behind to defend the group from a zombie but was unable to catch up to them as the zombie tackled him. Fortunately, he was saved by Gwi-nam who hoped he would reveal Cheong-san's location; he refused, knowing Gwi-nam's true intentions. Gwi-nam attempted to kill him with the knife but fortunately, Nam-ra had noticed Su-hyeok's absence from the group and ran back where she witnessed his fight and tried to help him but Gwi-nam bit her and threw her against a wall in anger. Su-hyeok pushed Gwi-nam out of a nearby window, and he and Nam-ra fled towards the music room where the group noticed Nam-ra's bite mark. Despite the potential threat, he defended her and tied her to him so that if she were to turn, he would be the only one killed.
Later, during the time the group where on the roof, he tried his best to defend them when Gwi-nam attacked them in the roof but was unable to due to Gwi-nam's halfbie ability but Nam-ra also used her halfbie ability to defend the group and push Gwi-nam off the roof. After the special mission team abandoned the group, a loud thunder storm disrupted Nam-ra's senses, making Su-hyeok rip small pieces of fabric from his collar shirt and making them into earbuds so that Nam-ra will feel better. When it rained, he and Cheong-san were the only ones that did not cry, as he was making sure Nam-ra was ok. He witnessed Oh Joonyeong's death, and was later held back when he saw Gwi-nam bite Cheong-san in the arm, which caused him to create a diversion for them to escape the construction site. Su-hyeok made it to the Quarantine Camp, and while being interrogated by the Investigator, he asks why were they abandoned on the rooftop and left to die. When he met Nam-ra on the school rooftop, he said that they would always be friends, no matter what happened.
Physical Appearance[]
Su-hyeok is a tall, handsome young man with short black hair, dark brown eyes and a muscular, athletic build. Initially his hair is combed, but after the outbreak began, his hair gets messed up.
He wears the standard Hyosan High School male uniform but with a dark green blazer instead of the sweater. He wears a pair of white converse sneakers but doesn't like to wear socks (also called as Bare-Su/Barefoot Su-hyeok by some of his classmates). As he was a former bully, Su-hyeok is a pretty tough fighter. He was first seen wearing black sandals and his bare feet when he was with Cheong-san and Gyeong-su, and On-jo's flashback in Episode 1. There are some scenes where he is not wearing his blazer in school. He then puts on a pair of ankle pads and shoulder pads to protect himself from zombie bites. After arriving at the Quarantine Camp in Episode 12, he removed his collar shirt and tie, and wore a plain black t-shirt underneath his blazer while being interrogated. While living in the camp, he wears a brown fur coat, a grey turtleneck sweater, black jeans, and black sneakers.
Personality[]
Su-hyeok is a naturally sociable and charismatic teenager who became Hyosan High's popular heartthrob. He was not as smart and intelligent in class and does not get perfect grades. He also regretted his former role as one of the school's bullies, and tried to make amends with his fellow classmates the best he could. Su-hyeok soon became a vital member of the Class 2-5 survivors: his courage, athleticism, toughness, and ability to stand his ground made him the group's primary defender against the fast and aggressive zombies, and he often partnered with Lee Cheong-san on dangerous tasks vital for their survival. Though he was dedicated to his friends, his motivations largely centered on his love interest Choi Nam-ra, and his desire to protect and care for her - especially when she became a Hambie, and his subsequent struggles to help her contain the monster growing within her.

- In the original webtoon, he and Nam-ra had a romance, but it was shown later.
- Nam-ra showed romantic interest in Su-hyeok on the rooftop in the webtoon instead of in the music room in the TV series.
- In the webtoon, he and Ha-ri both knew each other prior to the outbreak, as he lived near her home.
