Nam So-ju (Korean: 남소주) was a main character in Netflix's All of Us Are Dead. He was the father of Nam On-jo, and a veteran firefighter and emergency worker for a 119 Fire EMS Rescue unit in Hyosan.
He is portrayed by Jeon Bae-su and voiced by Tom Choi in the English dub.
History[]
Pre-Apocalypse[]
So-ju was a firefighter who lived in the city of Hyosan with his daughter, On-jo. He was also good friends with Mrs. Lee, Lee Cheong-san's mother who lived next door to him.
Post-Apocalypse[]
During the beginning of the outbreak, So-ju was called to assist Park Eun-hee and her group in their office building to restrain a infected man; during this time Park Young-hwan got infected after being bitten and almost bit Kim U-sin while being restrained. While hiding in the building he intended to leave and search for his daughter but was convinced for the moment otherwise by Eun-hee. The group reached the rooftop and was rescued by the military and brought to Ulsan, where he then escaped from the camp and made his way back to Hyosan.
Along the way he got a shotgun from a abandoned police station and killed a few zombies with it; as he wandered through the desolate and zombie infested streets, he briefly hallucinated On-jo standing behind a window before realizing it was a store mannequin that was wearing the female uniform of Hyosan high school. He later left the gun to a man trying to save and protect his pregnant wife, who had been trapped in their car after it crashed, and eventually made his way towards the school through the mountainous area, marking his path with yellow ribbons (which the Hyosan School Group would later use to escape from the mountain).
When he entered at the school grounds, several zombies attacked him when he passed by the construction site but fended them off, later he made his way to the gym.
Death[]
He ends up finding On-jo in the gym and the rest of her classmates. He takes them to the tennis court where the zombies come. He distracts the zombies with flares so that On-jo and her classmates can escape but got bit in the process and so he stayed behind while the group made their way to the constructed building. He then became a zombie and died in the bombing in Episode 11 along with the other zombies.

In Episode 12, his name was likely written by On-jo on a memorialized message.
Physical Appearance[]
So-ju had short brown hair. During the show his outfit changes three times: The first time he wore a firefighter uniform that consisted of a orange sweater underneath of a black firefighter vest and wore black pants after he escapes from the quarantine camp. The second time he wore a standard blue officer uniform with a neon vest with a Police badge on it and a 112 South Korean police hat. The third time he wore a green zip up jacket with black pants. He was shown to be physically fit as seen several times when he is able to restrain and fight off zombies. In Episode 1, he first appeared wearing a grey shirt, a pair of black sweatpants and a wristwatch while having breakfast with On-jo at their apartment. As a zombie, his eyes are bloodshot and his teeth are covered in blood and he has a nosebleed.
Personality and Traits[]
So-ju was a loving father to his daughter, and a veteran rescue worker who had seen many things in his long career, to the point where he realized that being healthy and safe took precedent over all else in life. He took his job very seriously, and when the zombie outbreak struck Hyosan, he tried his best to fulfill his duties by the book: to save as many people as he could, to a priority above even saving his own loved ones first. The worsening crisis, and the oppressive military protocols eventually compelled him to set off on his own to rescue his endangered daughter. Tough, stoic, resourceful, and capable of handling zombies and humans alike, So-ju was a fiercely determined father willing to battle the odds so he could see On-jo again - even if it meant costing him his life.

- Nam So-ju is the second main characters to have died in the series, first being Lee Na-yeon.
- So-ju is the only main character not to appear in the webtoon, and it is implied that On-jo's parents died in the outbreak.
- So-ju's English dub actor is Tom Choi, who voiced the Front Man/Hwang In-ho in the English dub of the Netflix hit series Squid Game, and Kim Han-yong in Sisyphus: The Myth.
