Yang Yeong-ju (Korean: 양영주) was a minor character in Netflix's All of Us Are Dead. She is portrayed by Lee Mi-ji.

History

Pre-Apocalypse

Not much is known about Yeong-ju's past except that she seemed to be friends with Kim Min-ji. She was a student of Class 2-5 and sat at the left of the class in front of Yang Dae-su and Jang Wu-jin. When Park Sun-hwa asked for all phones to be handed in, Yeong-ju kept hers in her backpack, which also prevented it from being heard when Sun-hwa texted the class group chat.

Post-Apocalypse

At some point during the outbreak, Yeong-ju was bitten and turned into a zombie. When the Hyosan school group survivors find her phone, she appears and bangs on the door, Lee Cheong-san tried to use her face to unlock her phone through the classroom window, but it didn't register. Nam On-jo points out that emergency numbers still work even if a phone is locked, and the group calls the police and fire stations with the locked phone. After that she runs off a few minutes later after hearing a girl scream with the other zombies following behind and later makes a slight appearance as one of the zombies that runs up the stairs during the students' escape to the science lab. After that Yeong-ju is not seen again, and she was presumably incinerated during the bombing.

Physical Appearance

Yeong-ju had chest length brown hair. She wore the standard Hyosan high school female uniform, as well as sweatpants under her skirt. As a zombie, her face had veins popping out all over it, her nose was bloody and her hair was slightly messy.

Personality

Due to her minor role and lack of lines, nothing is really known about Yeong-ju's personality, but she appeared to be friendly and cheerful. When Kim Hyeon-ju entered the classroom, she seems to be concerned rather than fearful compared to the other students.

Trivia

• Yeong-ju's phone is estimated to be an iPhone 11 or iPhone X in appearance.
• In the ending credits, Yeong-ju is listed as Infected 31.
• It can be presumed that Yeong-ju was infected at some point either when Cheong-san and On-jo were going to Class 2-5, or when the cafeteria was overrun. As a zombie, it's possible she was killed when the soldiers entered the science lab, since she was last seen around there.
  • Theoretically, if Yeong-ju at least survived, she might had a chance of surviving along with the group survivors.
